The National AIDS Memorial Grove has been confirmed as a Co-Beneficiary of AIDS Walk San Francisco once again this year! Last year, we were one of the top fundraising teams for AIDS Walk San Francisco and received a grant in the amount of $34,500! This year our goal is $50,000, and with your participation, we know we can reach it. 80% of the funds raised by Grove board members, staff and eligible walkers will directly benefit the Grove, and the rest will benefit other HIV/AIDS programs and services throughout the Bay Area. walkers are defined as those who have not walked as independent walkers OR as a member of any team (other than the Grove’s) in any of the last three years (AIDS Walk 2015, 2014, and 2013).
Once again this year, AIDS Walk San Francisco Premier Sponsor, Quest Diagnostics, has planned many unique activities throughout the day, both at its booth and along the course. Activities include body/face painting tables; an interactive ‘red ribbon wall’ (make dedications on red ribbons and attach that are attached to a giant ribbon); photo booth with step and repeat; a scavenger hunt along the walk route with prizes benefitting well-deserving organizations; giveaways…and more to come! Our hats are off to Quest Diagnostics for generously supporting this critical annual event, with funding and fun!
Since 1987, AIDS Walk San Francisco has raised $86 million for HIV programs and services in the Bay Area, and has grown into the largest AIDS fundraising event in Northern California. This is a fun and simple way to raise much-needed funding for the Grove and other worthy organizations, and it signals the Grove’s support in the ongoing fight against HIV/AIDS. And if you won’t be joining us for the walk, we invite you to support one of our board members or staff, as a majority of your donation will be returned directly to the Grove.
As a special gift, raise $500 or more, and receive a National AIDS Memorial Grove 25th Anniversary T-Shirt!
As always, thank you very kindly for your support!
