“Our story will be remembered. The Hemophilia Memorial will ensure we never forget those we loved but lost.”
The tragedy of HIV/AIDS in the hemophilia community can never be forgotten. The Hemophilia Memorial, located within the Moonwalk Crescent, will be a place where we can grieve and remember, and in honoring the past, establish a place where we can look to the future with hope bolstered by a united community.
In the early days of the AIDS epidemic, over 50% of the U.S. Hemophiliacs died from the disease as a result of our nation’s contaminated blood supply. The work taking place here will forever remember all those lives and pay tribute to the courage and activism of this community who worked tirelessly to ensure America’s blood supply is safe and this tragedy will never happen again.
With your donation, our story will be preserved for future generations.
