Special Reception 11:30 AM
Curtain 1:00 PM
The National AIDS Memorial is very pleased to announce that we will be hosting a reception at the Berkeley Repertory Theater before Angels in America, Tony Kushner’s Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning play, on June 9, 2018. Directed by Berkeley Rep’s Tony Award-winning Artistic Director Tony Taccone, this is a major production of one the most influential plays of the last 50 years. The play shines a spotlight on people with AIDS and the opposing forces at work in our country, in the 1980s and today.
The Memorial is reaching out to the many young people in our community, as well as our long-time supporters, and we are thrilled that members of the cast will be joining us for the reception. Angels is presented in two parts, Millennium Approaches and Perestroika. Following the reception, guests will see Part 1, Millennium Approaches; guests may elect to see Part 2, Perestroika, that evening at 7:00 PM, or at a later date. Ticket prices are a total of $70 or $85 (depending on seating level) for both Parts 1 and 2. (Discounted tickets are available for those with financial need.)
Through our partnership with the Berkeley Rep, the Memorial will receive a portion of ticket sales. This is a great opportunity to support the National AIDS Memorial, see a theatrical masterpiece, connect with youth and meet some of the cast.
Tickets will be available for purchase here during the first week of May. If you would like to be contacted once they become available, please contact Joe Garrett at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
