Bring your light to a powerful celebration supporting the essential mission and programs of the National AIDS Memorial: Light in the Grove.
The brighter future we envision is impossible without your light - Our vision is that never again will a community be harmed because of fear, silence, discrimination, or stigma.
A completely unique experience, Light in the Grove has been recognized repeatedly as one of the Bay Area’s Best annual LGBTQ+ fundraising events!
Please click here for Host levels and benefits, and be sure to make your selection by October 7 to be listed in the Light in the Grove printed invitation.
If your Host level includes an engraving as a benefit, please note that our deadline to receive engraving orders for this year is September 15.
Your support as a Host funds the programs of the National AIDS Memorial, which includes the care and maintenance of our beloved 10-acre National AIDS Memorial Grove and the historic 50,000+ panels of the globally-recognized AIDS Memorial Quilt.
So many of you share this evening with us year-after-year, and we are deeply grateful to each and every one of you!
We are honored that Sister Roma of San Francisco’s Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence will serve as this year’s distinguished emcee. From fighting HIV/AIDS on the front lines to combatting social media giants by sparking the #MyNameIs movement, Roma has dedicated more than half her life to fighting for health and social justice.
In honor of his contributions to the fight against AIDS, Dan Bernal, will receive the 'Lifetime of Commitment Award.' His accomplishments include:
UCSF's Vice Chancellor for Community and Government Relations
HIV/AIDS patient advocate on the Independent Citizens Oversight Committee of the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
Former San Francisco District Chief of Staff for Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi
ARRIVAL AT THE GROVE
Enjoy a stroll through the magically-lit National AIDS Memorial Grove, featuring imaginative artistic features with enchanting dance and musical performances
PROGRAM
Dine with an array of food and drink options and a brief program featuring inspirational reflections from featured guest speakers
AFTERPARTY AND CANDLELIGHT REFLECTION
Allow a candlelight reflection at the Circle of Friends and displays of the AIDS Memorial Quilt to move you as the community reunites for a party of remembrance and renewal
All proceeds directly support the mission and programs of the National AIDS Memorial. These range from scholarships for young activists to awareness programs that honor lives lost to AIDS. By leveraging iconic assets such as the Quilt and Grove, we connect, heal, and inspire people affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic and other health and social justice inequities that prevent healthy and fair participation in society.
