Nestled in the National AIDS Memorial Grove’s Dogwood Crescent, the Circle of Friends is considered the “heart of the Grove." Made of beige Minnesota flagstone, it is engraved with 2,215 names of individuals who have been touched by AIDS, including those who have died, those who loved them, and donors to the Grove. By engraving a name in the Circle of Friends, your own, that of someone you honor or love, or someone you loved and miss, you not only remember, you tell the world that this global tragedy must never be forgotten and that all lives lost to AIDS will be remembered. Moreover, your contribution will help maintain the Grove’s health and beauty in perpetuity. Earlier this year, we determined that the Circle of Friends would reach capacity by the end of this year. At this point, in light of the number of engraving requests we have received, we are unable to accept any additional requests. Until this year's list of names have actually been engraved however, it is difficult to know with 100% certainty whether there is any available space.
