Nestled in the National AIDS Memorial Grove’s Dogwood Crescent, the Circle of Friends is considered the “heart of the Grove." Made of beige Minnesota flagstone, it is engraved with 2,215 names of individuals who have been touched by AIDS, including those who have died, those who loved them, and donors to the Grove. By engraving a name in the Circle of Friends, your own, that of someone you honor or love, or someone you loved and miss, you not only remember, you tell the world that this global tragedy must never be forgotten and that all lives lost to AIDS will be remembered. Moreover, your contribution will help maintain the Grove’s health and beauty in perpetuity.
We have determined that the original Circle of Friends will be at capacity by the end of this year. A completed donation of at least $1,000 entitles you to inscribe one name within the Circle of Friends. The next (and likely the final) round of engravings will occur prior to our annual World AIDS Day National Observance on December 1, 2016. All requests and payment (in full) must be submitted by September 30th, 2016.
